zardari oathKARACHI: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) have forged an alliance with the latter’s members taking oath as ministers Aaj News reported on Monday.

President Asif Ali Zardari administered oath to PML-Q ministers setting the stage for a coalition.

On Sunday, the two parties signed an agreement under which the PML-Q will be included in the federal cabinet and the two parties will jointly contest the next general election in 2013.

A senior minister, four federal ministers and six ministers of state will be added to the Federal Cabinet.

In a power sharing deal with the PPP, PML-Q leaders were sworn in at a ceremony in the federal capital with Pervez Elahi and Amir Mukam being sworn in as federal ministers while Raza Hiraj, Shahjehan Yusuf, Rana Asif and Waqas Akaram took oath as ministers of state.

PML-Q leaders Wajahat Hussain, Faisal Saleh Hayat, Ghaus Baksh and Riaz Pirzada were also sworn in.

PML-Q is being given twelve positions in the power sharing formula with the PPP.

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani was also present on the occasion.
