Former West Indies fast bowler Michael Holding believes that Pakistani pacer Muhammad Amir deserves a second chance to make a comeback to international cricket.
Pakistan’s left-arm fast-bowler Muhammad Amir, who was banned for five years for spot-fixing case in England in 2010 by the International Cricket Council (ICC), was allowed to participate in domestic cricket matches.
According to foreign media reports, Holding said that he believes Amir deserves a second chance and he hopes that he grabs this second opportunity firmly with both hands. “I can totally understand people not wanting him back especially those people in Pakistan who will be saying that he has embarrassed the country and yes you don’t want someone who has embarrassed your country to get off lightly,” he said.
Amir had received permission from the ICC to return early to domestic cricket and has made a promising start in his bid to make an international comeback.
