imageISLAMABAD: Former Captain Rameez Raja believes if Pakistan is unable to chase 250 runs than it would be very hard for the green-shirts to win the series.

Rameez was disappointed on the greens-shirts first ODI loss against Australia and said "if our team is not able to achieve the target of 250 runs at Sharjah then it is very difficult to win the series against Australia."

Rameez said the pitch was tailor made to score runs and our bowlers restricted Australia cheaply. "Sarfraz Ahmed should be played as an opener in the next two matches as well," he said while talking to a private news channel.

Rameez also feels Misbah ul Haq's recent form is a worrying sign for the team. "Misbah fell in the similar fashion twice in the last series and fell prey again," he said.

However while praising Shahid Afridi, Rameez said Afridi bowled extremely well in the ODI and looked in good shape. "Afridi didn't do well with the bat, but overall, he had a pretty decent day," he said.

Rameez also praised Umar Akmal saying Umar played a very good knock but it was in vain.

Pacer Muhammad Irfan said Australians don't let the loose balls go unpunished. "Our plan was not to give their batsmen any room at all," he said adding we were able to restrict the Australians to an average total in the first ODI.

Irfan said "we will go out positively for the next ODI and try to win it to keep the series alive."

Irfan said he is 100% fit and ready to render his services for Pakistan.
