KARACHI: Brisk shipping activity has been observed at the Port during last 24 hours, where five ships carrying containers, wheat, chemical and furnace oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FAP Terminal, Engro Vopak, Multi Purpose Terminal and FOTCO Terminal on Thursday.
Meanwhile four more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was only 55% at the Port on Friday where total number of six ships namely CGM Rossini, MV. Hammonla Husum, Luilang Wisdem, Norgas Napa, MV. Lahore and Harsanadi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, chemical, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 73885 tonnes, comprising 53368 tonnes imports and 20517 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1469 containers (Boxes) were handle at the Port during last 24 hours.
