speakerasKARACHI: The FM Radio is to be launched soon under the e-policing project. This was stated by the Sindh Minister for Information Technology, Muhammad Raza Haroon.

He was presiding over a meeting of the e-policing project's steering committee here on Tuesday.

The Minister further stated that the police FM Radio would air informative programmes to guide the people regarding traffic, Madadgar 15, crime situation, arrest of accused, recovery of weapons as well as about the police stations etc.

At the meeting he also reviewed the progress of the project regarding the initiation of police FM Radio.

Raza Haroon was of the view that with the building of the FM Radio at the Central Police Office (CPO), will help in better coordination and programming.

He said that with the frequency and installation of tower, the FM Radio would be started soon and handed over its control to the police department.

The Minister directed that all the components of the radio be completed by June this year. He also reviewed in detail the pace of the EPR software whose preparation is in final stage.

The meeting was also attended by the IG Jails, Ghulam Qadir, Secretary IT Sindh, Saleh Baloch, Director general IT Sindh, Muhammad Yusuf, and other officials. The police officials appreciated the efforts made by the IT Sindh Department.
