imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the federation and all four provincial governments to take concrete steps to overcome environmental pollution.

The three-member bench beaded by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and comprising Justice Amir Hani Muslim and Justice Umar Ata Bandial heard the suo-moto case regarding Environmental Pollution Prevailing in the Country.

The court rejected the Sindh Government report regarding environmental pollution.

The Chief Justice remarked that the Punjab Government has also submitted two years old report. On which the Additional Advocate General Punjab informed the bench that the Punjab government on Thursday has submitted a new report.

The Chief Justice remarked that he is repeatedly asking the counsels that reports should be submitted one day before the hearing so the benches could review reports.

He remarked that the colour of land in Sindh was changed due to cement factories in the provinces. Justice Amir Hani Muslim questioned that under which law cement factories were working in the province.
