China shares higher in morning trade

SHANGHAI: Chinese shares rose 0.24 percent in early trade Friday with metal companies and coal miners leading gains on the back of  stronger global commodity prices, dealers said. The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was up 6.95  points at 2,935.06. The Shanghai A-share index added 0.24 percent, or 7.31 points, to 3,073.23,  while the Shenzhen A-share index jumped 0.16 percent, or 2.08 points, at  1,313.91.
