SHANGHAI: Chinese shares rose 0.24 percent in early trade Wednesday with banks and insurers leading gains on strong earnings results, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was up 7.16 points at 2,965.23.
The Shanghai A-share index added 0.24 percent, or 7.50 points, to 3,104.87, while the Shenzhen A-share index lost 0.03 percent, or 0.46 points, at 1,334.21.
