Hong Kong shares end flat

HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares ended flat on Tuesday in cautious trade amid concerns over the Japanese nuclear power plant crisis.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index edged down 7.83 points to 23,060.36 on turnover of HK$67.46 billion ($8.65 billion).

Chinese shares closed down 0.87 percent. The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was down 25.93 points at 2,958.08 on turnover of 199.6 billion yuan ($30.3 billion).
