Nazimuddin in as Bangladesh bat in second Test

136556-01-02KHULNA: Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and opted to bat in the second and final Test against the West Indies at the new venue of Khulna on Wednesday.

 

The home team, which lost the first Test by 77 runs in Dhaka, brought in Nazimuddin in place of opener Junaid Siddique to boost their batting.

 

The other opener, Tamim Iqbal, was cleared to play on Tuesday after suffering an elbow injury.

 

The West Indies replaced paceman Ravi Rampaul with Fidel Edwards.

 

The Sheikh Abu Naser Stadium in Khulna became the seventh venue in Bangladesh and the 107th in the world to host a Test match.

 

Bangladesh: Mushfiqur Rahim (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Shahriar Nafees, Nazimuddin, Shakib Al Hasan, Mohammad Mahmudullah, Naeem Islam, Sohag Gazi, Nasir Hossain, Abul Hasan, Rubel Hossain.

 

West Indies: Darren Sammy (capt), Chris Gayle, Kieran Powell, Darren Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Marlon Samuels, Denesh Ramdin, Veerasammy Permaul, Sunil Narine, Tino Best, Fidel Edwards.

 

Umpires: Richard Illingworth (ENG) and Bruce Oxenford (AUS)

 

TV umpire: Enamul Haque (BAN)
