HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares gained 0.76 percent by noon on Thursday as bargain hunters moved in again after last week's heavy losses caused by the Japanese earthquake-tsunami and atomic crisis.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 173.39 points to 22,998.79 on turnover of HK$35.09 billion ($4.50 billion).
