HONG KONG: Hong Kong shares ended 0.14 percent lower on Wednesday as profit-takers moved in following three straight days of gains. The benchmark Hang Seng Index fell 32.50 points to close at 22,825.40 on turnover of HK$68.59 billion ($8.80 billion).
Chinese shares closed up 1.01 percent with property developers leading the gains amid hopes for strong first quarter results, dealers said. The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was up 29.34 points at 2,948.48 on turnover of 138.3 billion yuan ($21.0 billion).
