SHANGHAI: Chinese shares rose 0.11 percent in early trade Tuesday, tracking gains on Wall Street with gold miners and oil companies climbing due to rising gold and oil prices, dealers said.
The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was up 3.30 points at 2,912.44.
Global oil prices rallied Monday in the aftermath of Western air strikes on Libya and heightened turmoil in Yemen, both oil exporters.
The Shanghai A-share index rose 0.11 percent, or 3.44 points, to 3,049.42 while the Shenzhen A-share index was down 0.06 percent, or 0.83 points, at 1,344.97.
