FAISALABAD: A woman was tortured to death in the area of Rodala Road police station when Lahore police raided a house to arrest criminals. Her relatives staged a protest against the atrocity of the police official who managed to escape from the scene after the death of the lady.
According to details, a police party headed by Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Tariq from Lahore conducted raid at a house in Chak No.383-GB Mandi Rodala Road to arrest some criminals.
However, during the raid, house inmates produced resistance, mistaking the police officials as dacoits, but the raiding team started thrashing and torturing the house residents.
Due to severe torture, a lady Dolat Bibi received serious injuries in her head and died on the spot whereas the police party fled the scene immediately by boarding a police van and a white colour car.
The relatives of the ill-fated lady along with area people staged a protest by putting the dead body in the bazaar and chanted slogans against police and demanded immediate arrest and punishment for those who are responsible for the killing.
Receiving information, SP Jaranwala Nasir Sial and SHO Rodala Road reached the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring that the accused would not be let free and they would be put to task in accordance with law.
