ISLAMABAD: The weekly meeting of the Federal Cabinet was postponed on Wednesday due to funeral prayers of the husband of Minister for Environment Samina Khalid Ghurki.
The statement issued from the Prime Minister House said that the meeting has been postponed as a number of Cabinet Ministers expressed desire to attend the funeral prayers.
No new date or time has yet been announced for the meeting.
Khalid Javaid Ghurki, a senior leader of Pakistan People's Party and husband of Environment Minister Samina Khalid Ghurki, passed away after a protracted illness in Lahore on Tuesday.
The Pakistan People's Party cancelled all its programmes, including PPP Punjab meeting, that was scheduled for Wednesday.
