Pakistani banks replace top brass

• Muhtashim shall be succeeding Mohammad Aftab Manzoor, whose contract shall be maturing on 31 March 2020.
• Bank Alfalah Limited too in its filing informed that Chief Executive Officer Nauman Ansari  has tendered his resignation citing personal reasons.

Soneri Bank has named Muhtashim Ashai as their new president and CEO, in an announcement made by the bank on Friday.

“We have to inform that Board of Directors in their meeting convened on 13-2-2020 have approved the appointment of Mr. Muhtashim Ahmad Ashai as President and Chief Executive Officer effective 01 April, 2020,” stated Soneri Bank in its notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX).

Muhtashim shall be succeeding Mohammad Aftab Manzoor, “whose contract shall be maturing on 31 March 2020. This appointment shall be subject to clearance of the State Bank of Pakistan under Fit and Proper Test requirements.”

Bank Alfalah Limited too in its filing informed that Chief Executive Officer Nauman Ansari  has tendered his resignation citing personal reasons.

“We wish to inform you that Mr. Nauman Ansari, Chief Executive Officer, Bank Alfalah Limited (“the Bank”) has tendered his resignation as a Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, due to personal reasons,” said Bank Alfalah in its filing to PSX.

“The Board of Directors of the Bank in its meeting held on February 13, 2020 has resolved to accept the resignation of Mr. Nauman Ansari,” the bank said. The vacancy of the post of CEO will be filled by the Board of Directors in due course, after completing all legal and regulatory formalities.

Until that time Mr. Nauman Ansari will continue performing his role as President/CEO of the Bank.
