Ukraine sunflower oil exports jump 59.3pc so far in 2019/20

• Seaport exports of sunflower oil totalled 2.025 million tonnes so far, up from 1.271 million tonnes in the same period the previous season.
• The consultancy said exports fell to 67,000 tonnes in the week of Jan. 25 to Feb. 1, from 223,000 tonnes a week earlier.

KIEV: Ukraine, the world's top exporter of sunflower oil, increased its seaport exports of the commodity by around 59pc so far in the 2019/20 season, preliminary data from APK-Inform consultancy showed on Monday.

Seaport exports of sunflower oil totalled 2.025 million tonnes so far, up from 1.271 million tonnes in the same period the previous season, according to the consultancy.

The consultancy said exports fell to 67,000 tonnes in the week of Jan. 25 to Feb. 1, from 223,000 tonnes a week earlier.

Ukraine exported 6.063 million tonnes in the previous September-August 2018-19 season, according to the Ukrainian sunoil producers' association.
