President condemns blast at Akbarpura Mosque

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday strongly condemned the blast at a mosque in Nowshera.

President Zardari in a message termed the blast at Akbarpura Mosque at the time of Friday prayers as an "abhorrent act" and said the perpetrators were the enemies of Islam.

He said the government would continue to take a firm stand against extremist and terrorist elements across the country and would not be cowed down by such acts of violence.

The President in a message prayed to Allah Almighty for eternal peace for those killed and directed best possible treatment for the injured.
