LIMA: Peru's central bank bought $444.5 million on the local spot market on Friday, but the sol still closed at its strongest level in about 15 years. The sol bid 0.08 percent stronger at 2.651 per dollar.
The central bank bought greenbacks every day this week as part of its efforts to curb exchange rate volatility in a country where half of all bank deposits are made in dollars.
