HAMBURG: Taiwan's Maize Industry Procurement Association bought about 60,000 tonnes of corn from Argentina in a tender which closed on Friday, European traders said.
Price was said to be 140.41 cents a bushel c&f above the Chicago Board of Trade May corn futures contract. Seller was CHS.
The association, formerly known as Taiwan's Members Feed Industry Group (MFIG), had sought offers for 43,800 tonnes of corn from the United States, 45,000 tonnes from Argentina or 47,500 tonnes from Brazil.
The tender had requested shipment for May 1-15 from the US Gulf Coast or South America, or for May 16-30 from the US Pacific Northwest coast.
