HANOI: Vietnam, the world's top robusta producer, exported 172,080 tonnes, or 2.87 million 60-kg bags, of coffee in March, up 49.5 percent from February, customs data released on Wednesday showed.

March's actual coffee exports were higher than the government's estimate of 160,000 tonnes.

For the first quarter of this year, Vietnam exported 488,648 tonnes of coffee, down 13.3 percent from a year earlier, Vietnam Customs said in a statement.

Coffee export revenue in the January-March period fell 21.9 percent to $850 million, it said.
