ISLAMABAD: A shallow westerly wave persisting over upper parts of the country is likely to cause rain with thunderstorm and snowfall over the hills at isolated places of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeast Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during next 24-48 hours.
Under the influence of prevailing weather system, isolated rain with thunderstorm and snowfall over the hills is expected in Malakand and Hazara divisions in KPK, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, and Lahore divisions in Northeast Punjab, Gilgit- Baltistan and Kashmir on Tuesday/Wednesday.
However, dry weather is expected in most part of Sindh and Balochistan during the current week.
The lowest minimum temperature was recorded minus 4C in Kallat. Today's minimum temperatures were Islamabad 11 C, Lahore 13 C, Quetta minus 2 C, Karachi 21 C, Peshawar 9 C, Muzaffarabad 9 C, Gilgit 4 C, Murree 3 C, Multan and Faisalabad 15 C.
Chief amount of rain/snowfall recorded during last 24 hours was Kalam 3.5 inches and Malamjabba 2 inches.
The rainfall was recorded Dir 49 mm, Pattan 24 mm, Rawalkot 22 mm, Parachinar 21 mm, Chitral, Garidupatta and Rahwali 20 mm, Murree, Gujranwala 19 mm, Mirkhani 14 mm, Lower Dir 13 mm, Balakot and Mangla 11 mm, Rawlapindi and Kotli 10 mm, Skardu, Drosh and Saidu Sharif 8 mm, Muzaffarabad 7 mm, Sialkot 5 mm, Lahore 4 mm, Peshawar and Islamabad 3 mm.
