ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik Monday directed the administration to further tighten the security of the capital by enhancing checking on entry and exit points of the capital.
Chairing a high level meeting, he directed the administration of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to enhance patrolling and keep a strict vigil on the suspicious elements.
He also directed to enhance the security of red zone especially of Diplomatic Enclave.In the meeting Interior Secretary, Chief Commissioner,IG, Additional Secretary Interior, DG National Crisis Management Cell and other officials were present.
Meanwhile, the Interior Minister met with new Foreign Secretary Jalil Abbas Jilani and discussed security related issues with him.He felicitated Jilani for assuming the charge of foreign secretary and assured him cooperation.
Minister for Communication Arbab Alamgir also met with Interior minister and discussed with him the possibility of the opening of passport and National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) office in his constituency Jehangira.
Malik ordered to set up an office of NADRA at Jehangira.The minister said that the government of Pakistan People's Party was striving hard to resolve the problems of masses.
Arbab Alamgir thanked Malik for taking personal interest in resolving the problems of Jehangira.
