BUENOS AIRES: A freight train ran into a school bus Monday after it broke down at a crossing north of Buenos Aires, injuring 10 people, including seven children, officials said.
The accident, which occurred near the city of La Campana 43 miles (69 kilometers) north of the capital, came less than two weeks after a commuter train crash in suburban Buenos Aires left 51 dead.
"As of now there are seven kids with light injuries, and three adults, one of them with a fractured arm," Alejandro Collia, the health minister for the province of Buenos Aires, told channel C5n.
Collia said the bus apparently broke down on the crossing and the driver couldn't move it out of the way of the train, which dragged the vehicle for the several meters before coming to a stop.
