FAISALABAD: Chairman Pakistan Textile Exporters Association, Rana Arif Tauseef has hailed the government's decision of granting Most Favoured Nation (MFN) status to India.
He said the government should provide equal opportunities to local industrialists so that they could play their dynamic role in earning foreign exchange by competing in international markets.
Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, the PTEA Chief expressed grave concern over 354.5 million dollars decline in national exports and decline of 800 million dollars in textile exports in last four months.
He said that textile was once mainstay of the national economy which was experiencing continuous decline particularly during last four months. Poiting out energy crisis, he said that winter season has ended but still gas is available only two days in a week.
Similarly, electricity tariff has been increased up to 40pc but still the menace of load shedding was plaguing the industrial sectors.
He hoped that government would pay attention towards industrial sector before it is too late.
Vice Chairman Pakistan Textile Exporters Association Shahzad Siddique Ch., Former central chairman Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association Dr. Khurram Tariq, Vice Chairman All Pakistan Bedsheet and Upholstery Manufacturers Association Imran Mahmood and Chairman Pakistan Embroidery Association Nadeem Ashfaq puri were also present.
