Awami Tahafuz committees dissolved

The city police on Tuesday on dissolved all 'Awami Tahafuz Committees' on the level of Police Stations to make the upcoming general elections fair and impartial. A police spokesman said that all the Superintendents of Police (SPs) have been directed by the high command to immediately dissolve all such committees which were constituted on the directives of former Inspector General of Police (IGP) in 2014 to maintain law and order on the level of police stations. He asserted that the Lahore police is taking every possible step to ensure free, fair and transparent elections on July 25.
