It is good to note that the army would ensure foolproof security during printing and distribution of ballot papers for the general election.
The Election Commission of Pakistan has released its action plan to all four provincial election commissioners for smooth printing and distribution of ballot papers. Papers for ballot have been imported from the United Kingdom and France with special security features so that nobody can print fake ballot paper during the election. The ECP has also shared its action plan regarding printing and distribution of ballot papers with Pakistan National Security Printing Corporation, Pakistan Post Foundation and Pakistan Printing Corporation Press.
All provincial election commissioners have been directed to provide the required number of ballot papers to the relevant printing presses by June 30 so that the printing of ballot papers can be started as soon as possible, the Commission said. The ECP said that a letter has also been written to the armed forces to ensure foolproof security during printing and distribution of ballot papers.
The foregoing suggests that country's institutions are fully geared towards obtaining free, fair and transparent election, which is less than one month away.
