A division bench headed by Justice Mohammad Ali Mazhar resumed the hearing on the petition filed by Shahab Osto about vacancies of doctors in the province in the backdrop of unavailability of doctors and paramedical staff in Shikarpur District Hospital after a suicide attack at Imambargah. During the hearing, court appointed Shahab Sarki Advocate as amicus curiae of the court along with Faisal Siddiqui Advocate. Court directed them to come up with full preparations to assist the court as the case is in the public interest.
Court put off the hearing of the case for June 06, 2018 after Justice K.K. Agha remarked that the elements responsible for paralyzing the judicial system should be identified and responsibility should be fixed for it. He said it is imperative to fix the responsibility for the rule of law in the country. Court sought the arguments from amicus curiae in June 06 hearing.
Former president General Pervez Musharraf (retd), MQM's founder, and then home minister Wasim Akhtar who is now Karachi Mayor, have been made respondents along with the others as the application that has been filed seeks from the court to bring those responsible for May 12, 2007 carnage to justice.
