Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal was discharged on Monday from the Services Hospital after the medical board took a unanimous decision to this effect. Ahsan spent nine days at the Services Hospital. After coming out from his room and before leaving the hospital, Ahsan raised the Pakistani flag. He also visited his mother's grave at the Johar Town.
Speaking to the media personnel outside the hospital, Iqbal's son thanked them for their "genuine concern and responsible reporting." Before his discharge from the hospital, MMA leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman visited Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal at the hospital. He prayed for early recovery of Ahsan and also expressed good wishes for him. It may be added that Ahsan Iqbal was shot at and injured during a corner meeting in Narowal's Kanjrur tehsil on May 6.
