In the wake of dengue season, the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department Punjab has reinforced 'the Punjab Prevention and Control of Dengue Regulations 2018' which shall remain enforced till 30th November.
As per notification, the owners/residents of houses and properties would be responsible for ensuring the prevention and eradication of dengue in their houses and properties for which they will responsible to remove/destroy the solid waste and discarded things capable of holding water and placed in the open air. Hospitals and clinics will be responsible to provide data of dengue patients to the health department or visiting health inspectors. All the departments and the institutions would take necessary precautionary measures to check the dengue breeding according to the SOPs under Dengue Regulations 2018 as per previous practice.
Moreover, the Punjab Minister for Primary & Secondary Health Kh. Imran Nazir paid a surprise visit to the state-of-the-art warehouse of medicines near Thokhar Niaz Baig on Monday.
The minister inspected the medicines stock system, distribution plan of medicines to the DHQ and THQ hospitals and cold chain management system. He issued instructions regarding cold chain temperature maintenance, transportation of medicines and inventory system etc. Furthermore, Punjab Minister for Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Khawaja Salman Rafique has said that expansion of Tayyip Erdogan Hospital Muzaffargarh has been completed and the hospital has become 380-bed hospital on which Rs 4.8 billion have been spent.
Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif would inaugurate the extended block of the hospital during the current month, he said, while presiding over a meeting to review the inaugural arrangements of the hospital on Monday. He said that hospital would have MRI, CT scan and other latest diagnostic facilities. He added that dialysis unit has also been established in the hospital. The hospital is not only providing quality healthcare facilities to the people of remote areas of southern Punjab but also a ray of hope for the people of Balochistan and Sindh who came to the hospital for their treatment, he added.
