Secretary General of Jamaat-e-Islami, Liaqat Baloch, has termed the federal budget a joke and foul play with the masses and the democratic system by a government on its last legs. In a statement here, he said, that the prices of gas, POL and electricity would further increase. He said that there was no major programme in education and health sectors.
Fresh loans and interest, he said, would further aggravate the economic situation of the country and the salaried class and the pensioners would be further crushed by the price spiral. Liaqat Baloch said that Prime Minister's argument justifying the appointment of the Finance Minister and the presentation of the federal budget was weak and unimpressive.
The federal budget, he said, was an unconvincing document of a government in disarray. He was confident that the religious parties' alliance MMA would be able to mobilize the religious minded and patriotic voters to achieve a grand victory and would be in a position to provide relief to the masse.
