Invoking the apex court''s review jurisdiction on Friday, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jahangir Khan Tareen requested the court to revisit his disqualification from Parliament on the grounds that he didn''t conceal assets intentionally while submitting his nomination papers. Last year on December 15, the Supreme Court while announcing the verdict in response to PML-N leader Hanif Abbasi''s petitions, disqualified Jahangir Khan Tareen for life, saying that the reply submitted by Tareen was a confession in itself, thus, he stands disqualified under Article 62 (1) (F) of the Constitution of Pakistan.
He submitted that reason behind establishing the Trust was to provide a house to his children in the UK whereas making himself and his wife as beneficiaries was a precautionary step. Tareen further submitted in the review petition that Trust was formed through the transfer of payments from banking channels of Pakistan.
