The Karachi Port handled 174,255 tonnes of cargo comprising 141,631 tonnes of import cargo and 32,624 tonnes of export cargo including 8,223 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 141,631 tonnes comprised of 59,912 tonnes of containerised cargo; 11,469 tonnes of general cargo; 24,915 tonnes of bulk cargo: 21,700 tonnes of coal, 3,215 tonnes of DAP and 45,335 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 32,624 tonnes comprised of 30,919 tonnes of containerised cargo; 305 tonnes of general cargo and 1,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 8,223 containers comprising of 4,254 containers import and 3,969 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,556 of 20's and 1,199 of 40's loaded while 04 of 20's and 148 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 878 of 20's and 292 of 40's loaded containers while 771 of 20's and 868 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There were six ships namely MSC Kerry, Ever Divine, Al Safa, Senere Juniper, Global Brave and Kong Que Song carrying containers, oil tanker, coal, steel and general cargo respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were seven vessels viz. Hansa Neuburg, MOL Earnest, Northern Dependant, APL Norway, Maritime Equator, Ellie Lady and Maritime Longevity carrying containers, oil tankers and coal respectively currently at the berths. There were four ships namely Hansa Neuburg, APL Norway, OOCL America and Al Mahboobah carrying containers and chemical respectively sailed out to sea on Friday.
There were seven vessels viz. CMA CGM Virginia, Los Angeles Trader, Mohar, Ocean Pearl, Aquila, Heilan Rising and Kiran Adriatic carrying containers cement, coal, DAP and steel respectively due to arrive on Friday, while six vessels viz. Prosper, Karina Danica, Virgo, Bahra, Da Kang and Mandarin Ocean carrying containers oil tanker, and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.
A cargo volume of 74,471 tonnes comprising 52,041 tonnes of import cargo and 22,430 tonnes of export cargo including 2,372 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 52,041 tonnes includes 2,529 tonnes of LPG; 2,965 tonnes of diesel oil; 7,300 tonnes of palm oil; 10,623 tonnes of soyabean and 28,386 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 22,430 tonnes includes 5,748 tonnes of rice and 16,682 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,372 containers comprising of 1,494 containers import and 878 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were two ships namely CV Mataquito and MT Gas Niaz carrying containers and LPG respectively sailed out to sea on Friday morning. A total number of seven vessels viz. CV Mataquito, MV Pan Ocean, MV Da Kang, MV Agios Nicolas, MT Gas Niaz, MT BW Danube and MT Chemroad Nova were currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, rice, general cargo, soyabean, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as nine ships namely CV Torrente, CV GH Chinook, MV Pacific Action, MV Berun Trader, MV Engiadina, MT Gas Amazoin, MT Maria-III, MT Bahra and MT Chemroad Nova carrying containers, project cargo, steel coil, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours. There were six vessels viz. CV Torrente, CV GH Chinook, CV Prosper, MV Nautical Loredana, MV Forest Park and MT Bahra carrying containers, chemical, coal and diesel oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Iron Ore & Coal Berth, Engro Vopak Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were nine ships namely CV Virgo, MV Morning Star, MV Berlin Trader, MV Forest Park, MV Great-61, MV Nautical Loredona, MT Arwa Spirit, MT Maran Gas Spartro and MT Pacific A Dorodchi carrying containers, rice, coal, chemical, steel, LNG and furnace oil respectively due to arrive on Friday. There are three ships namely CV APL Norway, CV Cape Mayor and MV BBC Maine carrying containers and genera cargo respectively due to arrive on Saturday.
