Moot on 'advances in drug discovery, development at NARC' held

The Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan (AWKUM) organised the first International Conference on advances in drug discovery and development at the National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Islamabad.
According to a press statement issued here Friday this conference was a joint venture of department of biochemistry (AWKUM), Office of research, innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) AWKUM with the cooperation of Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) Islamabad. During the three-day conference national and international scientists from Finland, Denmark, Turkey and China presented their research articles on recent advances in drug discovery and open the doors for future research in the field.
The chief guest of the closing ceremony was Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali Director general NARC other members of the concluding session were director ORIC Dr Asad Ali, Dr Naseem Ullah Qureshi director P&D, Dr Saleem Ullah Khan chairman pharmacy department, Dr Nurshad chairperson biochemistry department, Dr Muhib Ullah Shah secretary of the conference and Dr Zahida parveen who expressed their views about the conference and its importance for students learning and faculty involvement to organize this conference.
At the end of the conference DG NARC Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali congratulated Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan for organizing this successful conference and lauded that this kind of conferences will provide a good platform for students and young researchers of the universities of Pakistan. He further extended his services for future collaboration for organizing joint conferences, seminars and workshops.
From Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan Director ORIC thank the DG NARC who provided AWKUM the logistic support to organize this conference in a very organized way and appreciated the work of the organizing committee of AWKUM.
Also there was a poster competition which was judged on the last day and Faisal khan from HEJ Karachi got the 1st position, 2nd position went to Muhammad Hameed of Quaid-e-Azam University and Muhammad Abbas from Punjab University got the 3rd position. At the end of conference shields and certificates were distributed among the organizers and students of biochemistry department.
