The federal capital is witnessing an increase in incidents of robbery, snatching at gunpoint, car theft, kidnapping and murder, as the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police registered nine cases of robberies and snatching, six cases of carjacking, five cases of abduction and three cases of murder during the last week.
According to data gathered by Business Recorder through registered first information reports (FIRs), the most favourite areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Aabpara, Industrial Area, Shalimar, Khanna and Secretariat police stations. During the last week, two cases of kidnapping and one case each of robbery and snatching were reported to Aabpara police station.
Nadeem Masih filed a complaint with Aabpara police station that accused Asif Masih and Asim Masih kidnapped his nephew. Another Mir informed Aabpara police station that unknown persons kidnapped his son Waseem Riaz when he was coming from Laki Marwat to Islamabad.
Aurangzeb, a sub-inspector in capital police, lodged a complaint with Aabpara police station that unknown accused have withdrawn Rs 100,000 through his ATM card. Ibrar Rehman filed a complaint with Aabpara police station that two unknown persons snatched mobile phone and cash from him when he was going to his home.
Industrial Area police station registered three cases of car lifting and one case of snatching at gunpoint. Unknown persons stole a car bearing registration number MD-816 of Nasir Mehmood parked at Sunday Bazaar parking, lifted another car (LEF-7465) of Muhammad Safir and stole a bike ALN-578 of Tanveer-ul-Hassan from the limits of same police station.
Zeeshan Niaz lodged a complaint with Industrial Area police station that two unknown armed persons snatched a laptop, mobile phone and cash from him at gunpoint. During the last week Secretariat police station registered one case each of auto theft and murder. One case each of auto theft and robbery was reported to Shalimar police station. Carjackers stole a bike (EH-2844) of Said Hussain from the limits of Shalimar police station. An accused Zeehsan stole cash and mobile phone from the driver of Saad Khan in the jurisdiction of Shalimar police station.
Khanna police station registered one case each of kidnapping and robbery during the last week. Iqbal informed Khanna police station that unknown persons kidnapped his daughter while another Ghulam Sarwar informed Khanna police station that unknown persons stole cash and mobile phone from his house. Karachi Company and Tarnol police stations registered one case each of kidnapping while one case each of robbery reported to Shams Colony, Koral and Kohsar police stations during the last week.
