RECORDER REPORT: KSE close of day

KARACHI: After witnessing a bull run during the last three consecutive sessions, the investors on Wednesday opted for profit taking and the KSE-100 index lost 21.37 points to close at 12,263.25 level.

Although the market positive trend during most part of the day and the index hit 12,405.48 points intra-day high level. However, the investors opted for profit taking during late hours and the index dropped into negative zone at 12,238.56 points intra-day low level.

Trading activities however improved significantly as the volumes at ready counter increased to 13-month high level of 243.295 million shares as compared to 162.115 million shares traded on last trading session.

Total market capitalization reduced by Rs 2 billon to stand at Rs 3.194 trillion. Of the total 346 active stocks, 155 closed in positive and 124 in negative while the value of 67 stocks remained unchanged.

Jahangir Siddiqui Co was the volume leader with 33.883 million shares and gained Rs 0.19 to close at Rs 8.18.
