MCC recovers huge quantity of amphetamine

Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Preventive on Monday claimed to have recovered substantial quantity of amphetamine, a white crystalline drug from a Pakistani passenger. According to official details, the action was taken on a tip-off, which revealed that some unscrupulous elements were planning to take contraband drug abroad via international airlines.
Reacting on this information, the preventive staff posted at Jinnah International Airport was directed to mount stiff vigilance to thwart the said wicked attempt of defaming the country. Following the said instruction, the preventive staff spotted a Pakistani passenger, who was later identified as Muhammad Akram, due to suspicious movement. He was asked to declare in case of having any contraband item in his possession.
On his refusal, the staff conducted thorough examination of him and his belongings. Resultantly, the staff claimed to have recovered 3.1 kilograms of amphetamine worth Rs 30 million from his luggage. The contraband drug was artfully concealed at the bottom of his luggage. Consequent upon recovery, the accused Akram, who was travelling to Riyadh via Doha through Qatar Airlines flight QR-605, was taken into custody. The case has been registered against him and further investigation was underway.
