A 5-day painting exhibition is starting from April 5 to showcase and highlight the artworks of famous artists of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The exhibition titled "Visual Art and Colours of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa" is being organised by the Tourism Corporation Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (TCKP) and the Pakistan National Council of Arts (PNCA) in Islamabad.
The artworks include 74 paintings on the life of Buddha sketched by Irshad Zamil besides other.
paintings of senior and junior artists.
They include Tayyaba Aziz, late Haji Muhammad Adeel, Late Nasirruddin, Ajab Khan, Pir Hamid Kheshgi, Liaqat Ali, Resham Khan, Ahsan Zeb, Nighat Humayun, Gulnaz Dilawar, Ali Sajid, Fatima Amin, Zakir Khan, Imran Khan and others.
Speaking at a meeting, TCKP Managing Director Mushtaq Ahmed Khan said that special assistant to chief minister on tourism Abdul Munim Khan and Secretary Tourism Muhammad Tariq besides other dignitaries, senior and junior artists and art lovers from KP and elsewhere are expected to attend the inaugural ceremony to be held at 4 pm at the PNCA, Islamabad.
He said the organisers have also arranged a cultural music night to entertain the visitors.
The official added that over 200 paintings of the 35 renowned artists from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be put on display to bring the hidden talent of visual art to limelight at national and international level.
He said such exhibitions would also be arranged at Lahore, Karachi and other places to introduce artists of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and their artworks.
