The Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) and the Bank of Punjab (BoP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) here on Thursday for collection of fee involved at e-Khidmat Centers for a number of services to facilitate the common citizens and to save them from long queues, visiting different offices, delays and waste of time on behalf of PITB for Board of Revenue (BOR).
Under the directions of the Chairman PITB Dr Umar Saif, the agreement was signed by Sajid Latif, Director General e-Governance PITB and Nasir Mehmood, Group Head, BoP on behalf of their respective organizations.
PITB has appointed BOP as its sole agent under this MoU to receive government fee/collection at facilitation center and credit the collections into the Concentration Accounts.
These Facilitation Centers in the nine districts of the Punjab Province will offer general public access to different federal and provincial level departments under one roof and provide services including CNIC and NADRA document issuance, passport services, weapon license issuance, Birth/ Death/ Marriage registrations, Domicile issuance, Fine Collections, route permits, local and district government admin related services, Motor Vehicle Registration, FARD issuance and token tax collection etc.
According to the spokesperson of the PITB under the MoU, BOP agreed to provide its services in respect of rupees-based transactions relating to collection on the terms and conditions of this agreement. PITB will provide place and other utility arrangement to BOP free of cost at Facilitation Center while BOP will open collection booth at Facilitation Center free of cost.
BOP will ensure to arrange HR, computers, printers and connectivity arrangement at bank booth to perform collection transaction and to generate a customized payment receipt giving details of the payment as well as customer reference number and other details.
BOP shall transfer the received collection to relevant Government head of account on next working day. This agreement is valid for a period of five years and shall be renewed automatically unless terminated.
