Globally, the banking industry is undergoing a substantial change which is in response to regulators who are now more intolerant to gaps in technology and processes. These regulators at the same time are becoming more sophisticated and intrusive. This change has forced the banks, especially in Pakistan, to invest heavily in compliance and upgrade of technology.
Whereas the Fintech industry is operating under the radar of the regulator and not under the same microscope as major banking and financial institutions. This industry has been allowed to operate and provide services that directly compete with the financial industry often causing market disruptions.
In such a competitive environment the biggest leap that the banking and financial industry has taken, is the development of products catering to low-income population of the country. However, the customers in this income bracket have different needs, hence, solutions to them need newer access channels and business models. These channels should be convenient, scalable and cost effective to ensure efficiency for the industry and the end customer. The industry is currently exploring and trying to implement newer and converged solutions which require collaboration of technology and telecommunication providers.
This has created opportunities for technology companies like M3 Technologies, who are nimble and exclusively innovative for their clients.
