Speakers at a conference have urged the government to take appropriate steps against those involved in blasphemy related activities on social media & other forums, saying blasphemy of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is the worst kind of terrorism.
The leaders of different religious political parties, scholars from various schools of thoughts, lawyers' representatives and traders while addressing the All Parties' Conference (APC) organised by Pakistan Ulema Council (PUC) here on Monday, said that the entire Muslim Ummah is united to defend Namoos-e-Risalat.
They said that blasphemous material on social media is a problem not only of Pakistan but of the whole Muslim world. The meeting of ambassadors of Muslim countries on the issue of blasphemy called by the interior minister will be a source of awakening and uniting Muslim world on the issue, they maintained. The participants appreciated Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan for calling the meeting of ambassadors from Muslim countries. They said the call by the ambassadors of Muslim countries to the United Nations for legislation against blasphemy represents the sentiments of Muslim world. The UN and OIC should put in place legislation against sacrilege of the sacred personalities of all religions.
They said that a joint struggle should be made for security and improvement in law and order in the country. They said success of operation Raad-ul-Fasaad is possible when its scope will be widened to each and every type of terrorism. They also demanded the government to keep a check on activities of Ahmedis.
The PUC would organise Tahafuz-e-Namoos-e-Risalat Conferences in Bahawalnagar, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Qila Deedar Singh, Lahore, Okara on April 1, April 3, April 4, April 11, April 12 and April 16 respectively. The conference was presided over by the Central Chairman PUC, Sahabzada Zahid Mehmood Qasmi, while other members who addressed the conference included Amir Markzi Jamiat Ahle Hadith Professor Sajid Mir, President Pakistan Ansarl-ul-Umma Maulana Fazul-ul-Rehman Khalil, President Aleh Sunnah Wal Jamaat Muhammad Ahmed Ludhyanvi, Chairman Maskih ul Ulam Council Pakistan Sahibzada Peer Sultan Faiz ul Hassan and others.
The speakers said that the attack on the honour of holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is attack on faith and ideology of Muslims, adding it is duty of every Muslim to protect the honour of the Prophet. No compromise can be made on issue of blasphemy, they clarified. They said those who upload blasphemous contents on social media are warned that they are disrupting peace of the world.
