The Karachi Port handled 91,049 tonnes of cargo comprising 61,480 tonnes of import cargo and 29,569 tonnes of export cargo including 5,739 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday. The total import cargo of 61,480 tonnes comprised of 23,766 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,361 tonnes of bulk cargo: 8,630 tonnes of coal; 3,731 tonnes of soyabean meal and 25,353 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 29,569 tonnes comprised of 23,977 tonnes of containerised cargo; 02 tonnes of general cargo and 5,590 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 5,739 containers comprising of 1,607 containers import and 4,132 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The break-up of imported containers shows 738 of 20's and 384 of 40's loaded while 09 of 20's and 46 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 795 of 20's and 321 of 40's loaded containers while 495 of 20's and 1,100 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely Kota Karim, Sima Giselle, Northern Dependant, MT Quetta and Star Pisces carrying containers, oil tanker and coal respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. Bellavia, Fowairet, Vela, Good Luck-1, M Gas and Kuwana carrying containers, oil tanker, rock phosphate, repair and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There were two ships namely YM Orchid and Cosco Haifa carrying containers sailed out to sea on Friday, while another ship namely GH Seabiscuit carrying meal is expected to sail on Saturday.
There were three vessels viz. Cosco Fukuyama, Morning Glory and Pan Ivy carrying containers, oil tanker and steel respectively due to arrive on Friday while seven vessels viz. CMA CGM Puget, UAFL Zanzibar, Prosper, Hyundai Highness, Chang Shun-II, Filia Glory and Hong Source carrying containers, steel and general cargo respectively are due to arrive on Saturday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 135,173 tonnes comprising 120,261 tonnes of import cargo and 14,912 tonnes of export cargo including 4,661 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 120,261 tonnes includes 31,383 tonnes of furnace oil; 12,023 tonnes of soyabean seeds; 855 tonnes of project cargo and 76,000 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 14,912 tonnes includes 2,353 tonnes of sand and 12,559 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,661 containers comprising of 4,000 containers import and 661 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were two ships namely MV Baltic Winter and MT Harmony-1 carrying project cargo and furnace oil respectively sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while two more ships namely CV Maersk Semarng and CV Suez Canal carrying containers are expected to sail on the same day.
A total number of seven vessels viz. CV Maersk Semarng, CV Suez Canal, CV ER Tianping, MV Chance, MV Spectrum-5, MV Baltic Winter and MT Harmony-1 currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, sand, project cargo, soyabean seeds and furnace oil respectively during the last 24 hours.
As many as fourteen ships namely CV CCNI Arauco, MV Industrial Charger, MV Pacific Award, MV Fuming, MT Bneider, MT Al Dasma, MT Al-Salam-II, MT Karachi, MT Torm Valborg, MT Shalamar. MT Lahore, MT Brizo, MT CH Zephyr and MT Bunga Alamanda carrying containers, project cargo, coal, diesel oil, furnace oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six vessels viz. CV CCNI Arauco, CV Hugo Schulte, MV Industrial Charger, MV Fuming, MT Torm Valborg and MT Argent Bloom carrying containers, project cargo, coal, furnace oil and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Friday.
There were seven ships namely CV Maersk Savannah, CV Quadriga, CV Jack London, CV CCNI Arauco, CV CMA CGM Arauco, CV Hugo Schulte and MV JI Xiang Song carrying containers and project cargo respectively due to arrive on Friday, while another ship namely CV Nicoline Maersk carrying containers is due to arrive on Saturday.
There were three ships namely CV MSC Asya, CV Express Black Sea and MT Al-Soor-II carrying containers and diesel oil respectively are due to arrive on Sunday.
