ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Monday forecast cold weather condition for most parts of the country during next few days.
According to met analysis, a shallow westerly wave is still affecting Kashmir and its adjoining hilly areas and likely to persist during next 24 hours.
Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of Punjab and federal capital and Sindh during next 24 hours.
However, most parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan will remain under the grip of cold wave conditions during next few days.
The lowest minimum temperature was recorded -12C at Kalat and today's minimum temperatures were Islamabad 1 C, Lahore 6 C, Quetta -8 C, Karachi 7 C, Peshawar 4 C, Muzaffarabad 3 C, Gilgit 3 C, Murree -5 C, Multan 5 C and Faisalabad 3C.
The chief amount of rainfall recorded during last 24 hours was Drosh 8 mm (4 inches snowfall), Kalam 6 mm (3 inches snow), Dir 6 mm, Rawalakot 5 mm, Lower Dir 3 mm, Chitral 2 mm, Saidu Sharif and Muzaffarabad 1 mm.
