Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Friday took notice of problems being faced by Afghan nationals in the wake of closure of Pak-Afghan border, following a series of terror attacks in the country. Nisar directed Regional Passport Office Peshawar to resolve visa related issues of Afghan nationals and also directed authorities concerned to extend visas of the stranded Afghan nationals. He said the step is aimed at facilitating Afghan citizens who have come to Pakistan legally.
It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan closed border crossings with Afghanistan hours after a suicide bomber killed scores of people at a well-known shrine in Sehwan Sharif. The closure of the border also halted routine trade supplies to Afghanistan and increased tension between the two countries.
