SSGC holds Mehfil-e-Milad-un-Nabi

Published December 31, 2016 Updated December 31, 2016 12:00am

On the occasion of the blessed month of Rabi-ul-Awwal, SSGC's Corporate Communication Department, in keeping with a long drawn Company tradition, organised a glittering Mehfil-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) ceremony on December 29, 2016 in the Company's Head Office Auditorium.
Religious scholars delivered insightful sermons, highlighting the teachings of Holy Prophet (PBUH) while reputed Naat Khawans rendered naats in praise of holy Prophet Mohammad (PBUH). One of the high points of the Mehfil was a thought-provoking speech by a Malaysia scholar Abu Shariz Badr who stressed that the teachings of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) are for all mankind to follow and emulate. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) gave an enduring constitution that showed people a definitive path to glory both here and hereafter, the learned speaker said. Abu Shariz further said that by following the teachings of Quran and Ahadees, we can rid ourselves of all the evils and in fact help create a better, more tolerant society.
Against a beautiful backdrop of a mosque, reputed Naat Khawans including Zulfiqar Ali Hussaini, Muhammad Azam Chishti, Qari Raees Ahmed and Adeel Raza also recited Naats in their eloquent away. A senior Company executive Azim Akhtar recited a kalam of his father Sehba Akhtar, a renowed poet. The packed to capacity Head Office auditorium joined the naat khawans in reciting the beautiful naats. Also present on the occasion were SSGC's Acting MD Amin Rajput, Colonel Shoaib A. Qureshi (Retd), Head of Admin. Services, Shoaib Ahmed, Company Secretary and a large number of company employees attended the program. -PR
