The efforts for co-operation between two key opposition parties, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has lost the momentum after return of Asif Ali Zardari from self-exile, sources said.
The PTI has adopted a more cautious approach of 'wait and see' for co-operation with the fellow opposition party PPP after return of former president and the party's co-chairman Zardari. The contacts between the Leader of Opposition Syed Khursheed Shah and PTI's central leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi failed to have tangible impact on the relations between the two parties for building political co-operation against the PML-N government.
According to sources, the PTI leaders were more optimists about improvement of the ties with the PPP led by Bilawal Bhutto, after return of Zardari they are disappointed over the matter.
PTI is waiting for December 27 deadline set by the PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to the government for accepting his four demands or face the party's promised anti-government drive, sources said. Imran Khan-led PTI, the most vigorous opposition party, that has vehemently challenged the government in past three years, has also adopted a wait and see policy, to look what is going to happen after arrival of Zardari. Asif Ali Zardari will address a public meeting on December 27 (tomorrow) in connection with death anniversary of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto at Garhi Khuda Bux in Larkana. Zardari had promised some 'good news' to the party workers on December 27.
