Indus Water Treaty enjoys sanctity and guarantees which cannot be withdrawn lopsidedly and if it is then it will be considered as an act of war. This was stated by Chairman Senate Mian Raza Rabbani in Garhi Khuda Bux while talking to Media, here on Sunday, after laying floral wreaths and offering Fateha for the departed souls of Benazir Bhutto, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and others, before the commencement of 9th death anniversary celebrations of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto.
He said even under international laws this treaty cannot be revoked. He said that World Bank should play its positive role by fulfilling its treaty obligations instead of treating India as favourite child like the west was acting. He said that Musharraf had tried to make army and judiciary controversial by giving such statement, adding, he thinks Pakistan's judiciary is independent and is discharging its duties under the constitution smoothly.
Rabbani said that it was the blackest day of December 27 when Mohtarma was assassinated. He said that she was martyred through an international conspiracy and after which the country was going through severe internal and external troubles constantly.
He said that terrorism could not be eliminated with one or two operations but it will be wiped out through continued struggle. He said that he would give his ruling in the next session about regulatory authorities which he had reserved. He said Panama bill of the opposition was passed because of their strength and now government's bill had been referred to the standing committee on devolution, adding when this committee will submit its report, then it will be sent to the relevant quarters.
