Press Association Supreme Court (PAS) Friday unanimously elected Terence J Sigamony, Staff Reporter of the daily The Nation, as President of the Association. The PAS is organisation of the reporters from various TV channels, newspapers and news agencies, who cover the Supreme Court proceedings regularly. The members also elected Rana Masood of daily Jang as General Secretary, Allah Dad Siddiqui of DIN TV as Senior Vice-President, Tayyab Baloch of Aab Tak TV as Vice-President, Aamir Khichi of Associated Press of Pakistan as Finance Secretary, Salahuddin Khan of Nawa-e-Waqt as Information Secretary and Akhtar Siddiqui from Daily Ummat as Joint Secretary.
Nasir Kazmi of daily Jehan Pakistan was elected as Chairman Executive Committee of the PAS, while Syed Sabeeh-ul-Hasnain from Daily Times, Daniyal Qureshi of daily Ausaf, Aleem-ud-Din from the Metro News, and Saifur Rehman from daily Samaa were elected as the members of Executive Committee of the Association.
Former President PAS, staffer of Business Recorder Khudayar Mohla extended heartiest congratulations to the elected body expressing hope that the apex court reporters' representative body will ensure the highest standards of reporting of the court proceedings.
