Prime Minister, ISI chief discuss national security

Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar, new Director General ISI, on Friday called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, in the first such visit since his appointment earlier this month. During the meeting, the DG ISI and the prime minister discussed policy guidelines and national security. During the meeting Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar briefed the Prime Minister on the ongoing efforts against terrorism and the professionalism of the Armed Forces and security forces. The premier appreciated the role ISI has played in the anti-terrorism war. General Mukhtar replaced Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar as head of ISI earlier in December.
