A 16-member Turkish delegation of family health and drug tracking system experts led by Minister for Health Republic of Turkey Dr Recep Akdag reaching here on December 24. The delegation will give a final shape to the measures for implementation of Memorandum of Understanding signed during the recent visit of Turk President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Lahore at Hazoori Bagh reception.
A meeting to review arrangements in connection with the Turkish delegation visit was held here on Wednesday with additional chief secretary Punjab Shamail Ahmad Khawaja, in the chair. The meeting discussed the implementation modes of the tour agenda components. These include drug tracking system, transformation, new family medicine system, early warning response system, hospital management through public private partnership and outsourcing of various non-core clinical services and drug testing as well as pathological laboratories.
The meeting decided to appoint Additional Secretary Health Zaheer Abbas as Director Monitoring with five Turkish consultants who will stay in Lahore after the scheduled tour to implement the pilot projects under MoU with the Turkish Government. Dr Nasir Shakir and Dr Yaad Allah have been assigned duties as focal persons during the Turkish delegation's visit to Lahore, Faisalabad, Muzaffargarh and Multan.
Secretary Primary & Secondary Healthcare, Ali Jan Khan, Secretary Specialised Healthcare & Medical Education Najam Ahmad Shah, DG Punjab Healthcare Commission Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Sulehria, Acting Chief Executive Officer Punjab Public Health Agency Dr Shabnum Sarfraz, Member Health P&D Dr Shabana Haider, Addl Secretary Health Dr Faisal Zahoor, DG Health Services Punjab Dr Syed Mukhtar Ahmad Shah, Chief Executive Mayo Hospital Lahore Professor Dr Asad Aslam Khan and other senior officers participated in the meeting.
